Tracey Halverson, Dental Hygienist
Tracey has worked for Knutson Family Dentistry since 1997 and has been a patient of the clinic since she was 7. She graduated from the USD Dental Hygiene program in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene, as well as a minor in Biology. What she likes most about her job is getting to know the patients at their appointments and helping them meet their dental needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Todd and three daughters, camping and attending many softball games and dance performances.
Crystal Moeller, Dental Hygienist
Crystal grew up near Akron, IA but made Vermillion her home upon graduating from the USD Dental Hygiene program in 2002. Crystal has been with the practice since 2006, and she strives to make her patients feel comfortable in the chair to provide an overall positive experience. When not caring for her patients, she enjoys baking, visiting family/friends and spending time with her husband Derek and three children.
Kate Bruening, Dental Hygienist
Kate grew up in Milwaukee, WI and moved to Elk Point, SD a few years ago. She graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at Iowa Western in affiliation with Creighton School of Dentistry in December 2015. Kate also enjoys getting to know her patients and educating them on their oral health needs. She has a passion for patients of all ages and wants to provide individualized care. When she isn’t taking care of her patients, she loves to spend time with her husband Rich, and their golden retriever Oakley. Rich and Kate welcomed their first baby girl, Madelyn “Maddie” Ann in October 2018. During their spare time they enjoy camping, boating, and hanging out with family and friends.
Christen Smith, Dental Hygienist
Christen is originally from Montana. She moved to Vermillion and began college in June 2009. Christen graduated dental hygiene school in 2013 and has been a hygienist since. She and her husband Michael have three beautiful children. Nevaeh, Caleb and Elysa. Those kiddos keep her busy with dance, gymnastics and wrestling. When she does get spare time, she enjoys camping, cooking, a good bike ride and doing crafts. Christen is excited to be here, she is ready to develop life-long relationships with our patients! She loves that she gets to be a part of a great team that provides exceptional dental care!
Amanda Hesse, Dental Assistant
Amanda is originally from Sioux City, IA. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at WITCC in May 2014. Shortly after starting with the practice, she made Vermillion her home. Amanda prides herself on creating an excellent relationship with the patients and making sure they have the best experience while at the office. When Amanda isn't busy assisting the doctors, she enjoys crafting, attending her kids' activities, and cooking. She also stays busy with many other endeavors with her husband David, her son Landon and step-daughter Cadee. Amanda and her husband David are also over the moon to announce they are expecting a baby in September 2019!
Brooke Moser, Dental Assistant
Brooke has lived her whole life in Vermillion. She graduated in 2015 from Vermillion High School. Brooke joined the practice to assist the doctors in 2017. She is excited to continue learning about assisting and to get to know the patients better. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially summertime on the river. Brooke is also expecting her first baby in May, 2019.
Lacey Knudsen, Receptionist/ Financial Coordinator
Lacey grew up near Martinsburg, NE and graduated from Allen Consolidated Schools in 2003. She has recently moved back to her childhood home, where she is raising her two children. Lacey joined the practice in February 2018. She loves working with all the different people, almost as much as she loves working with numbers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her kids, crafting, going fishing, and just enjoying the simple country life.
Ashley Hofer, Dental Assistant
Ashley spent the younger half of her childhood in Austin, TX and then moved to Yankton, SD when she was 11. She graduated from Gayville-Volin School in 2012. In 2015, Ashley and her husband, Andrew, got married and bought their first home together. She joined the practice in April 2018 and loves the chance to get to know everyone. In her free time she enjoys watching her favorite football team, traveling with her husband and finding their next big adventure.
